The Rosemount High School girls hockey team wanted a team logo, one that would not only distinguish itself from the boys’ team but from all of RHS sports.
If you’re familiar with high school girl hockey players, while they certainly embrace their feminine side, don’t call them soft – they’re tough in their own right.
I created a logo that embraces both – the rigid form of the shamrock balanced with the curves of the script font.
The identity was applied to and influenced the look of the home and away uniforms, giving them a more vintage, throwback look.
The shamrock symbol, itself, is very versatile, being used separately on hockey merchandise, such as sweatshirts and caps.
The jerseys have also been used on the covers of the team’s game programs.
